And it's done.

I spent most of this past weekend refinishing this dresser and nightstand. (Don't ask me why I took before photos with some of the drawers out. I'm just crazy like that.) And I'll be honest with you. It was a lot of work. I'm not saying I wouldn't do it again, but it was a lot of work.

I mainly followed these instructions. Two coats of primer, two coats of paint, and two coats of polyurethane. With sanding between each step. And I'm glad it's over.

Once I was done with that, I set to work on the hardware. I decided to replace the middle pulls with these yellow ones from Anthropologie, but I kept the others. I stripped the originals of paint and cleaned them with brass cleaner.

After that, Mr. D and I lugged everything into the bedroom, installed the hardware, and loaded the dresser with our clothes. (Mostly my clothes. Mr. D only has one drawer. Poor thing.) Here's the final product.

  1. The furniture looks awesome. Drew's picture on the nightstand sure adds a lot, doesn't it? :-)
